Secret Wages

Please sit down before reading this.

On May 4, 2011, The Globe and Mail revealed that a deal to top-up public union workers was struck secretly between the McGuinty government and the province’s largest public-sector union (OPSEU). The top-up covered 38,000 workers and was in addition to a scheduled wage increase of 2% for 2012.

This revelation was discovered in a hearing document filed with the Ontario Labour Relations Board which the McGuinty government tried to seal. The matter has come to light because of a complaint filed with the Board by another Union that represents 12,000 public servants, accusing the government of violating the province’s labour laws by striking a secret deal with OPSEU.

This is more proof that McGuinty cannot be trusted and cannot standup to defend the interests of the taxpayers.
